Time / distance race
The Time race screen shows the top 5 of the participants who have rowed the most distance in this particular block, so far. We usually program it in combination with a red block of 2-3 minutes. At the beginning of the race everyone starts at 0 meters. When someone is really strong, it is possible to row 1000m in 3 minutes but usually it’s less. This distance is part of the total distance rowed as it appears on the lobby screen after the workout.
Before the red block of the race, there might be some extra time to explain the concept of the Time Race. In short: “Within the duration of the red block, try to row as many meters as you can. Don’t start off too fast, but build up your race properly”.
After the race, a results will be shown, comparable to the results screen in the lobby. A top 3 of the participants who have rowed the most meters in the given time.
Tips
- Explain not to start too fast
- Motivate the participants battling for the first 5 places
Notes
- Only those who are rowing at the finish, will appear in the end result screen!
- If someone stops rowing, his/her number and distance will disappear from the screen. If that person starts rowing again the distance will continue counting where it was.
